  • I want to order lenses, what information do I need

I want to order lenses, what information do I need?

First obtain a copy of your Contact Lens Prescription from your Optometrist.  Even if you do not require corrective vision for your eye sight, under Federal regulations it is unlawful to sell any kind of contact lenses without a valid, current Prescription from an Eye Care Professional.

Submitting your prescription information is very simple.  Once you have added your desired lenses to the shopping cart, proceed through the checkout system.  In the Order Review section of the shopping cart fill in your Eye Care Professional's Information (name and phone number) and we will verify that your prescription is current and valid. We do not not ship out lenses in a specific size or prescriptive power based off your submitted prescription or Eye Doctor's information, we use your Eye Doctor's information to verify that you have a prescription for contact lenses and we ship you exactly what you order.  If you need prescription contacts be sure to choose the correct power when ordering your lenses, if you need non-prescription contacts choose "0.00".

Verifying your contact lens prescription takes a minimum of 24 hours. Once verified, your order will be processed and shipped.

We care about you and your vision. Eye exams are not that expensive and well worth the money you spend, considering the value of your eyesight. Anyone who would sell you Plano contact lenses, disregarding the new law, only cares about making money, not the health of your eyes, besides, it is illegal. Please consider that when making your purchase.

  • Will my prescription for Eye Glasses work for Contact Lenses?

Will my prescription for Eye Glasses work for Contact Lenses?

No.  The prescription type for eyeglasses and contact lenses is entirely different.

Glasses sit a small distance away from your eyes whereas contact lenses sit directly on the cornea (the clear front surface of your eye).  Each requires a different type of examination.  You will need to see your Eye Care Professional to obtain a valid Contact Lens prescription before purchasing any corrective or Plano contact lenses.

Submitting your prescription information is very simple.  Once you have added your desired lenses to the shopping cart, proceed through the checkout system.  In the Order Review section of the shopping cart fill in your Eye Care Professional's Information (name and phone number) and we will verify that your prescription is current and valid. • What is "Power" and "Plano"?

    What is "Power" and "Plano"?

Power / SPH / D / Spherical:  refers to the strength of vision correction for contact lenses.  Measured in diopters, it is scaled in 0.25 increments and is always preceded by a + (plus) or a – (minus).  Minus means the prescription is a correction for nearsightedness (shown here) and a plus would mean a corrective prescription for farsightedness.  The further away from zero, in either direction, the more correction you need.  It is very common to need different corrective powers for each eye.

BC:  is the measurement of the "back curvature" of a contact lens and is measured in millimeters.  The lower the number, the steeper the curve.
DIA:  is the diameter of the contact lens, measured in millimeters.
OD:  is the abbreviation for "oculous dexter" which means "right eye."
OS:  is the abbreviation for "oculous sinister" which means "left eye."

Plano lenses have no vision correction at all and are meant for those who do not require vision correction.  Plano color contact lenses can be worn for cosmetic purposes in conjunction with prescription eyeglasses.  If you want non-corrective color contacts, please select the Plano (0.00) option when purchasing your lenses.

The FDA now considers all contact lenses medical devices; this includes Plano (0.00) lenses and can only be sold with the involvement of an Eye Care Professional. Due to new Federal law it is required that you, the customer, see an eye care professional and obtain a valid prescription before purchasing any corrective or Plano contact lenses.
